CIFI Plaza Beijing is an infill project, located in the core business area of Fangshan District, Beijing. As a community shopping center, the design strives to incorporate social / public spaces into the project, and to provide a community living room for the surrounding neighborhoods. The project aims to create a three-dimensional city with variable spaces.

It uses modern materials such as rolled steel sections, aluminum plate, stone and glass, and features a light metal double-hipped roof, offering a new visual impression. The architects hoped to use innovative techniques to embody the essence of classic gardens in a modern environment, making it a practitioner that returns culture to tradition, creates elegance from art and produces a poetic flavor from life. This project is built as an innovative example of a neo-Chinese style that mixes modernity and tradition.
Continue readingThe design is inspired by sea creatures, which Nanji Island is famous for, such as nudibranch. The "mollusk" lifts itself by its soft legs and stretches its tentacles to explore different directions. The public part of the hotel resembles a floating space above the sand. The sandy ground blends into the hotel to become an outdoor playground in the shadow cast by the building above. The building blends the boundaries between buildings and landscape by its organic form and flexible connectivity. Eco-friendly technologies have been installed to minimize the environmental impacts.

The program of the headquarters includes office, retail. The client envisions the project not only to be an iconic landmark but also a cultural multi-level communal space of this region which is in line with Client's Corporation, leading tech company advocating the concept of openness, cooperation and sharing.
Continue readingThe Board has a strong visual appeal of its transforming process. The structure makes it a completed circle which can be put in a backpack easily. Because of the circular appearance, it can be part of decorations at home or even place in the narrow space. It will give the users disparate visual experience and surprise. The skateboard is made from 57 interlocking pivot hinges, by folding the hinges one direction or the other, transforming the classic cruiser shape into a perfect circle.
Continue readingThe “Memories of Water” sits on a beautiful seashore in Qingdao, China, developed by China Resources Land, as a life style exhibition gallery, where people can appreciate the ocean scenery. The project blurs the boundary of space, and strengthens the interaction between visitors and the sea by creating architecture reflecting the water, the blow of wind, changing light, and shimmering sounds. The cantilever floating design allows visitors to enjoy the panoramic ocean view. The theme of the architecture is to go beyond its simple form like the ocean but to host people’s memories.
